Role of women in leadership has been consolidated through installation of Educationist at Ada Traditional Area


Educationist installed as Asafoanye for Ada Terkperbiawe Agbowayo of Amusu gate.

A trainee of the 1991 batch of Ada training college now College of Education has been installed as women leader for Ada Amusu gate of Terkperbiawe. She holds the tittle “Asafoanye” Amakie Amusu Osabutey Anikon I. Naana Amakie is known in private life as Eunice Osabutey Anikon, a daughter of the founder and Principal of Ada Technical institute, the late Mr. Vincent Anikon Osabutey of blessed memory. She holds a Bachelor Degree in home Economics From the University College of Education-Winneba. Naana Amakie Amusu I, is a professional teacher and she is heading a Junior High School in Tema in the Greater Accra Region. Naana Amakie I, has been carefully chosen through nomination, vetting and installation by the elders of Amusu gate of Agbowayo-Terkperbiawe of Ada Traditional Area.

Naana installation was cealed with Christianity rites by the Big Ada Trinity Presbytairian Church on September 1st, 2019 by Rev. E. O. Tettey, Catechist Paulina Azu, the session and the congregation.

Asafoatse Amusu III, of Terkperbiawe of the Amusu gate, stool father Keitey Akpey of Bedeku, nokotoma Daniel Akpey, of Agortor, Nene Asideka Adjaotor, Chief of Lolonya were part of the installations. Others are Nene Pecku of Anyakpor Wornobi Ajaotor-Chief priest, Mary Wuda, of Obane, Woryo Kajesi of Ashiaman, Nana Dede Okor of Obeye Pokuasi, George Osabutey Anikon Rev Joe Osabutey Anikon, Eddie Osabutey and others from Osabutey Anikon family witnessed the occasion. To list some few who also attended the ceremony, this write-up will not be complete if Miss Emily Akrong, Miss Gladys Akrong, Nene Otu Ackam I, of Sohapa-Ningo has not been listed for their solidarity role they played. In an interview with her, she stated that the elders and the entire community have entrusted into her hand to lead the women and she is ever ready to work with all to realised their developmental aspirations especially women and children. “With my educational background, we shall encourage each other in my area of jurisdiction to prioritize all forms of Education for the benefit of the up coming ones who will come to lead this Community. Naana was thankful to her step-mother, Mrs Rose Osabutey, Pastor Lekey, the teaching staff, the king makers of Amusu gate, brother and sister from both Paternal and Maternal families and pleaded for their continuous support both in spirit and physical in order for her to realised what is being expected of her.
